Healing Services was founded in
2000. Its principals are the husband and wife team of Nana
Kwabena and Iya-Mari Brown. They are both respected
healers.
Nyama Healing Services provides premarital
and couples' counseling, rites of passage training and
conducts relationship workshops amongst its offerings,
produce the Sa
Tula radio program on WOL-AM radio and
operates Nyama
Travel Agency specializing in discount travel packages
for relationship
counseling and workshops for couples and singles.
Iya-Mari Brown
Iya-Mari is a fully initiated traditional healer in the
Yoruba (
Nigeria
) as well as Ewe (
Ghana
) traditions of
West Africa
. She is also
a trained and certified healing touch practitioner.
In addition, she has twenty years experience as a
cardiovascular technologist.
She also has considerable experience as a
professional dance performer and teacher.
In this capacity she has done much in the area of
youth development. She
has, for the last three years, been assisting her husband,
Nana Kwabena Brown, with
premarital and couples’ counseling as well as with the
conduction of one of the most dynamic relationship
enhancement workshops being presented in the country.
Nana
Kwabena Brown
Nana Kwabena Brown is a traditional healer in the Akan and
Ewe traditions of
Ghana
,
West Africa
. Additionally,
he is a former seminarian with a Master of Arts Degree in
Religious Studies. He has a strong background in
anthropology and sociology and has taught the latter on
the college level. He
has a solid clinical background and training with over ten
years experience working in clinical settings.
He has worked as a substance abuse educator,
prevention counselor, rites of passage coordinator, family
enhancement specialist, parenting skills trainer, and
premarital and couples counselor.
In addition, he is trained in teambuilding and
group bonding counseling and has conducted workshops for
various organizations, businesses, practices, and
religious bodies. He brings a joyful mix of a strong
clinical background with years of experience as fully
initiated traditional priest and healer. |
